The Endangered Instruments of the Orchestra Project says thank you!

The project aims to develop a new generation of bassoon and viola players.

The start of term brought good news as this innovative project by Education Authority Music in partnership with the Ulster Orchestra enters its third year. We are delighted that the project has been awarded REAP funding for 2024-25 (supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland) which will greatly help toward the continuation of the project.

The Miskelly Chorale has also recently made a donation to support with the cost of instrument accessories. The Miskelly Chorale, directed by Edwin Gray, is a young female choir originally established with former pupils of Strathearn School, Belfast.

A huge thank you to both the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Miskelly Chorale for their support in helping to protect these endangered instruments, and to EA Music for working with the Ulster Orchestra on this super partnership.
