The workshops have reached over 10,000 children.
These interactive audio-visual workshops, led by Ulster Orchestra Community Liaison and Musician Nigel Ireland, along with a rotating selection of musicians from the orchestra, travel to schools across Northern Ireland to introduce the orchestra and show pupils the educational benefits and joy of music.
Many of these schools have limited or no music education provision, so the workshops often provide the pupils with their first exposure to live music and orchestral instruments.
Designed to appeal to pupils by featuring music from popular films and TV shows, the workshop teaches them about all the instruments in the orchestra and includes many interactive elements where they can get involved with the music.
The workshops have so far reached over 10,000 pupils and have received very positive feedback from both pupils and teachers. We hope that some of these pupils might be inspired to take up an instrument in the future and enjoy the many benefits that music can bring. Find out more about Learning and Community Engagement.
